Drug Addiction Therapy Services and Maintenance
With the help of loved ones and family members, many individuals get the help they need with drug addiction therapy services. This is a great start and takes a lot of strength and courage. Since addiction is an ongoing disease, it helps to have a system of support and after care services. Individuals and experts alike are turning to an unlikely place for support – social media.

Friends Help at an Addiction Center
While a person is in addiction center, it’s important to have a close knit group they can depend on. This helps with the healing process and will give them the confidence to learn to live a healthy and happy life again. Many people fall back into relapse if they go without this support system. Online forums, groups and pages on Facebook, Twitter and more are giving people virtual hope. They are being offered encouragement and guidance when they need it. It’s also great to hear other peoples’ stories.

Support after a Medical Detox

Although medical detox is the first step to recovery, many people want this process to end as soon as possible. Whether they are too ashamed to admit the truth or if they feel like running away from their problems, this isn’t the way to go about things. Social media gives people another outlet to get the support they need, if they are too busy or shy for in person meetings. In the end, it’s the social aspect of these networks that bring people together in their time of need.

Addiction Treatment before a Deadly Accident

The Realities of Drug Alcohol Detox
The realities of drug alcohol detox don’t seem real until it happens to someone you know and care about. TV shows and tabloids often exploit addiction when individuals need help and care to get better. Unfortunately, addiction doesn’t discriminate when it comes to its victims. Earlier this week, I learned that a friend from high school got addicted to drugs and alcohol after we graduated. This was shocking as we all remembered Terry as a smart and quiet girl. Unfortunately, her life story has been cut short due to her addictions.

Addiction Treatment for an Old Friend
As a young adult, Terry struggled with rehab addiction treatment and multiple tries at 12 step programs. After over 5 years in college, Terry managed to graduate a respected college and her family and friends thought that she had everything together. The trouble didn’t end there though, as Terry was secretly struggling with stress and eventually relapsed. With so much expectations on a sober individual’s shoulders, it’s important for them to have a support system, even if doesn’t appear that they need it.

Drug Addiction Treatment Before Tragedy Strikes

Last week, I attended a small funeral with Terry’s friends and family. Her father’s eulogy addressed Terry’s angst and addictions. It was a sobering moment for her loved ones to face the fact that she was gone. At the young age of 23 and numerous tries at drug addiction treatment, Terry was involved in a late night accident. It will take weeks to find out whether drugs and alcohol were involved. If anything was learned from this one real experience, it’s that addicts need help to overcome their problem. Don’t give up on your loved one and give them all the love and support you can while they are in recovery.

Newport Beach Residents Fight against Addiction Treatment Center

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Addiction Rehab Center
When you think of Newport Beach, the beautiful beach and scenery is probably the first thing that comes to mind. That’s what these residents are proud of and that’s what their fighting for in the latest battle against another addiction rehabilitation center in their neighborhood. For quite some time, Orange County and Newport Beach has been the place for luxury rehab centers. This week, residents and lawyers have formally sent a letter to the city opposing a new recovery center.

Addiction Treatment Awareness
The most interesting part about this story is the awareness about the controversy of addiction treatment. Speaking from a legal aspect, most officials favor rehabilitation because it shows that the individual is looking for a way to better themselves and get over their addiction. As for residents, they feel that it is attracting the wrong crowd to their home town. The farthest this dispute has gotten has even led City Council to rule on the limit of beds per center. In fact, there are many activists and groups that rally against new rehab centers.

A Safe Place for Drug and Alcoholism Treatment
All individuals deserve a chance to succeed with drug and alcoholism treatment. The real problem arises when the public doesn’t want these rehab centers in their neighborhood. With a beach front view, luxury homes, and a relaxing environment it seems like the perfect place for a rehab center. What are your thoughts on this latest battle in Newport Beach? Should an area be limited to a certain number of treatment centers?

Underage Teen Alcohol Consumption
A recent study shows that there is a trend in teen drinking during the summer before college. If you think about it, it makes sense. After high school, teens feel like they are moving on to the next stage of their life. This period of time is the first where they don’t have any responsibilities or homework before the school year starts again. Although it could start out by peer pressure or as a way to have fun, alcohol detox is a more serious consequence. Teens can be impressionable and this behavior can lead to a negative influence to their future. The study shows that it’s important for parents to keep a watchful eye on what their children are doing.

Parental Involvement and Addiction Treatment
Although a supportive parenting style is helpful, it’s not enough in some cases. Addiction treatment for teens is most effective when parents first notice that there is a problem. As other studies have shown, most parents are correct about their assessment of their child’s addiction problems. Parental involvement may not be enough to prevent experimentation with alcohol and drugs. It’s important for parents to know that there is a solution available for troubled teens. This is a crucial part of their lives where they need guidance and help, even if they don’t ask for it.

Alcoholism Treatment for Your Teen
Alcoholism treatment for teens can be a painful experience for parents to endure. No one would like to see their child undergo the effects of addiction. Therapy is available to help and personal counseling can help them build a better foundation for future situations. There is no such thing as a lost cause and the same goes for teen alcoholics. Don’t turn away from your child’s behaviors and help them make the right decisions. If you suspect that your teen has a drinking problem, let them know that they don’t have to be afraid to ask for help.

Addiction Treatment and the Family
Alcohol addiction treatment is always an important topic because it can be a painful process for a family to endure. Recently, a story of a tragic car accident hit the news. Two cars were involved a head-on car accident and involved a Navy officer. One car was traveling about about 90 mph, as it crashed with the other vehicle. Both drivers died on impact. What does this have to do with addiction treatment exactly?

Alcoholism Treatment for a Troubled Son
Upon investigation, the LAPD have found that one of the drivers could have made a deliberate move. The driver of the Saturn, Jason Sorg had trouble prior to the deadly accident. His mother told authorities that Sorg’s brother had recently died. The troubled mom also spoke about how her son has had trouble with drinking in the past and was also possibly involved in drug use. This is just an example of how an intervention and alcoholism treatment could potentially help families avoid a tragic situation.

Alcohol Alternative Rehabilitation
The young Navy officer who was involved, Oscar Avila Mendoza, left behind a pregnant wife. His passenger also suffered injuries and is in stable condition. Whether it’s a family alcohol intervention or alternative rehabilitation, this is a serious issue that should be addressed as soon as possible. Alcoholism is a deadly disease that has potential to harm innocent bystanders, such as the one in this story.

Drug  Addiction Treatment for Adolescents

Dealing with Alcoholism and Narcotics
Andrew Auernheimer (pictured above) is best known as being the lead hacker of a security group that exposed iPad vulnerabilities via AT&T’s service. What exactly is Andrew talking about when it comes to security flaws? Something that consumers definitely WON’T appreciate. Andrew and his team publicized a list of over 100,000 e-mail addresses of iPad customers. More shockingly, the list included celebrities and well-known professionals, such as Diane Sawyer and Rahm Emanuel. We’ve heard about hackers dealing with alcoholism and other drugs, so what were authorities looking for when the searched his place?

Drug and Alcohol Treatment for Hackers
According to reports, it looks like Andrew is facing legal issues after being jailed. He may also face drug and alcohol treatment as acid, ecstasy and other illegal narcotics were found in his home. As many skeptical readers believe, the drugs COULD have been planted after a police raid to incriminate the hacker. Does this sound like something that would fall into the realm of movie drama or something that could happen in real life?

Sober Living Computer Hacks

Other readers question the team’s ability to hack into a major company’s security system while under the influence of drugs like acid. This is a major task that requires sober living and concentration. So, why do police reports make it seem like Andrew was found in a drug den where his hacking/security business took place? Read more about Andrew’s exploits here and you’ll see why these companies would be furious of the information leak. For now, we’ll see how things play out for Andrew and Goatse Security (yes, that Goatse).

Drug and Alcoholism Treatment for Millions of Americans
Forget alcoholism treatment for the time being, a new study shows just how many Americans are prescribed with anti-anxiety medications. Last year, doctors wrote over 44 million prescriptions for medication like Xanax. What exactly has got Americans so depressed and apprehensive?

Living Sober with Anxiety
These staggering numbers make you wonder how many people are actually living sober. With kids increasingly being supplied with medication for ADHD and related disorders, it’s no wonder that we’re one of the most drugged up countries in the world! While experts claim that Americans are over-medicated, maybe there’s something that we can do to combat these anxiety disorders. Any suggestions or does our future have to worry about this?

Prescription Drug Treatment Program
Should this article make America gear up for a drug treatment program overhaul? The interesting about these prescription drugs is that they are meant to treat depression as well as MANY other disorders. Isn’t it weird – a wonder pill for all anxiety-related symptoms? In the meantime, we’re sure that there must be some side effects that the future generations will feel. As the article concludes, the most depressing part of this study is that the total amounts of prescriptions prescribed surpass the entire US population.

Walking the Path to Freedom: Alcohol Drug Intervention, Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Center, and Residing in a Sober Living House

Alcohol Drug Intervention

Surrendering to drugs and alcohol is relinquishing all control and power you have over your life. Drugs and alcohol are chemical substances that will quickly destroy your life. Drug addiction and alcoholism can result in temporary or permanent damage to an individual’s physical and mental health, and in some cases, can even lead to death. An alcohol drug intervention is a structured process of informing an individual of the negative implications of his or her behavior, and encouraging him or her to participate in treatment. The intervention must be initiated in an encouraging and non-judgmental manner in order to exemplify the support system that the individual will have throughout his or her recovery. The goal is that the intervention will lead to the direct guidance of the individual into a treatment program.

Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Center

Participating in a recovery program at an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center is one good option for individuals who wish to recover. Alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers offer comprehensive drug addiction and alcoholism recovery programs. Individuals have the option to participate in various treatment forms, including detox, one-on-one counseling, group therapy, 12-step programs, etc. This comprehensive approach to recovery gives individuals a number of skills and tools to utilize as they work to improve their strength.

Residing in a Sober Living House

After completing treatment, some individuals feel confident and ready to return home. However, once they get home, they realize that employing the skills that they learned was a lot easier when they were being constantly supervised, and they may relapse. To avoid this, some individuals reside in a sober living house for a short period of time. A sober living house is like a stepping-stone between inpatient rehab and returning home. It is an environment where an individual may practice his or her skills and test his or her strength, but with less guidance and less supervision, making it more comparable to home.

Rehab Is For Real People Too: Interventions

For many of us, the word rehab is associated with celebrity and fame. We think about the many celebrities who have been in and out of rehab—Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears, Robert Downey Jr., Drew Barrymore, Michael Jackson, Nicole Ritchie, etc. The list is endless. But what many of us fail to remember is that addiction and compulsion affect many people, not just those in the entertainment industry. And for those individuals who don’t have the money to check into beautiful luxurious rehabilitation centers at their leisure, the process of seeking help and recovering is very difficult. For this reason, many people suffering from drug addiction, alcohol abuse, or some other form of compulsion must experience an intervention before submitting themselves to a recovery program.

Intervention AE

AE is known for its provocative and drama-oriented shows. Intervention AE does a good job of exploring these “real life” people who are displaying negative and unacceptable behavior as a result of his or her addiction or abuse. The show provides audiences with a look into what addiction and abuse can do to a person, and how to go about resolving the addiction or abuse. It gives people a look at interventions and the treatment admission process from a perspective that we are not used to seeing in the media.

The Intervention TV Show

The intervention TV show is an example of real like people facing real life challenges. Individual’s who are suffering from drug addiction, alcoholism, etc., are followed as they attempt to overcome obstacles that exist as a result of their behavior. The show illustrates the intervention process as well. It is a good media display of ordinary people dealing with problems of addiction, as opposed to the more normalized celebrity gossip that tends to belittle the difficulties of addiction.
